WASHINGTON - The Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday voted to send the U.S. Central American Free Trade Agreement, or CAFTA, to the full Senate with a favorable recommendation. The panel's voice vote set the stage for the full Senate to possibly take up the pact in coming days. The Ways and Means Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the agreement on Thursday.
The bill will pass the Senate easily, but the House may be a problem. Tomorrow we'll see what happens. Stay tuned....
