Errol Morris, independent film guy, has an interesting discussion going on in the New York Times blog on the subject of "anosognosticism" [the condition of not knowing that you don't know something -- what Don Rumsfeld referred to as "unknown unknowns"]. There is a related piece by Ron Rosenbaum on the subject of agnosticism as a superior alternative to both theism and atheism in the latest issue of Slate. It, too, is very interesting. Read it here.
