Here's a good one-stop shopping site for information about the plight of women in the Middle East. It's the website of the Committee to Defend Women's Rights in the Middle East.

Among the subjects covered recently:

The stoning to death of a women in Afghanistan for sex out of wedlock.

A gang-rape in Iran.

Acid attacks on women in Bangladesh.

Some of this is stomach-churning stuff, but it's important -- and it's an important part of why reform must come to the region.
