Very light blogging for the past few days. The reason -- "She Who Must Not Be Named" has been struck by home improvement mania. As a consequence a seemingly endless procession of contractors has been in and out of our home. Here in the mountains we have dial-up access to the internet, but have had to keep the lines open so contractors can call to explain when they are coming, why it won't be when they said they were coming, to explain that they're lost and can't find our place [we live far out of town and the directions there are complicated], to tell us again that they're going to be even later than they had said, etc. That and trips to pick out paints, flooring, counter-tops, etc. have made it almost impossible to get anything much done. And, to make things worse, work on my latest book has bogged down.
Finally, late in the evening peace descends and I sit down to read and write, but I'm too distracted and burned out to do much more than stare at the screen.
How does Lileks get anything accomplished?
Things should be returning to normal in a couple of weeks. Until then, blogging will be a sporadic thing.
But stay tuned..., this too shall pass.
