Zimbabwe

I used to blog a lot about Zimbabwe, but not recently. The reason is that the unfolding horrors perpetrated in Mad Bobby Mugabe's Maoist, racist, anti-colonialist paradise became so depressing, so repetitive, and so interminable that I turned away.

Read about the latest series of atrocities here.

This is what happens when the Left is given free rein to impose their horrific visions on humanity.

UPDATE:

The rumors are flying -- there will be a coup, the votes are rigged, the opposition has won, Mugabe is going to retire, he will be forced out, no he won't, etc. Nobody really knows what is happening and all is speculation. To me it sounds like the accusations are setting up a situation in which, should Mugabe refuse to retire and stages a coup, there will be a multinational- intervention. I hope it won't come to that.

UPDATE:

BBC is reporting [here] that Mugabe's ZANU-PF party has lost its majority in the Zim parliament. The pressure on Mad Bobby to retire are building. Of course he has always resisted outside pressure arguing that it represents a neo-colonialist plot to restore Britain's control over Zim.

Oh, I also note that western journalists have fallen into the habit of calling Bobby the "Hitler of Africa", failing to inform their readers/listeners that the guy is a Maoist/Marxist/Anti-colonialist radical.
