Cambyses' "Lost Army" has been found. Once again Herodotus, styled by some as the "Father of Lies" by others as the "Father of History", has been confirmed. He told the story of a great Persian army of 50,000 men that disappeared into the desert of Western Egypt 2500 years ago and was never seen again. Most modern Egyptologists regarded the story as a myth, but recently two Italian archaeologists have discovered the remains of the army. It seems that the Persians, rather than fight their way from oasis to oasis, took an alternate route through the desert in an attempt to surprise the Egyptian army and were caught in a sand storm. That's why investigators searching along the main route were unable to find their remains.
