Federal Hill on a Sunday Afternoon

In case you wondered why such an expensively produced extravaganza as that put on at the Inner Harbor didn't draw larger crowds. This is part of the reason. Just four blocks away the Federal Hill merchants were holding their sixth annual Jazz and Blues Festival. It was definitely the place to be this weekend.

The festival was held on South Charles and Cross streets -- the area around the west end of Cross Street Market. Here's a shot of the corner at mid-afternoon -- note the two guys dressed like beer cans, they may have been representing one of the sponsors, but I'm not too sure. The weather was perfect, the music was excellent, there was food and drink aplenty, the peeps were in a good mood and having fun, and "She Who Must Not Be Named" and I had a wonderful time strolling around, sipping Thai iced tea, and just drinking in the ambience.
