To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

China Diary -- Part 13 Dinner and a Show
After our return from viewing the terracotta army we went out to dinner, and what a dinner it was. The entertainment was the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show, performed in traditional costumes and using songs and musical instruments from the Tang period. It should not be confused with the Tang Dynasty heavy rock band. [Read about the show here.]
The dinner was good, the show was great. Here are a few representative pictures.
Afterwards some of the dancers came out to hawk CDs and DVDs and to let the curious among us to check out their costumes and hair.
Then it was back to the hotel for some sleep. Another big day coming up tomorrow.
