On Sunday's Meet the Press, Ted Koppel decided to break with the MSM party line and voiced some honest opinions on the war.
He opined:
1) The US cannot withdraw from Iraq and from the Gulf region.
2) Iraq is only the most recent phase of a war that has been going on for nearly a quarter of a century.
3) The War on Terror will be going on for long after the Iraq phase is concluded. It is our children's children's war.
4) Democrat opposition to the war today will place them in a very difficult position if they ever take the Presidency because the war won't stop and they will have to fight it.
5) This scale of warfare requires the mobilization of society, something that we have been unwilling to do so far.
