To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

The Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet
Last night "She Who Must Not Be Named" and I went with some friends to see the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet," arguably the finest chamber ensemble in the world. It was an impressive performance. They started with three short pieces by Jacques Ibert, moved on to works by Milhaud, Taffanel, and Sam Barber, then finished with the delightful "Quintet #1 in E Major" by Jean Francaix which left me chuckling as we wended our way back to the car for the trip home.
It was a lovely evening with some lovely people. We must do it again soon.
Oh, yeah, "She" informs me that we will, she's already made all the arrangements.
