ABC reports:
The US intelligence services and the State Department screwed up "big time" in recent months.
In early July the Israeli government presented the U.S. with satellite imagery proving that Syria was developing a nuclear weapons capacity. It came as a shock to US intelligence which had not picked up on the facility's existence. Then action to take out the facility was delayed for months by US State Department objections voiced by Sec. of St. Condoleeza Rice. Finally Israel struck and destroyed the facility without US approval.
