Political Progress in Iraq

In an attempt to discredit the American effort in Iraq, Congressional Democrats concocted a list of eighteen benchmarks that the Iraqi government would have to meet and required the administration to report regularly on how many had been met. Last year when little progress could be reported the Dems and the MSM had a field-day crowing about the failure. Things have changed however in the past year and a new report shows that the Iraqi government has satisfactorily met fifteen of the eighteen benchmarks. Don't expect to hear much about it in the MSM. AP, very grudgingly it must be noted, reports the successes here.
