The Tide is Running Strong

I was going to link to this article in Time, [well whaddayaknow I just did] describing back channel negotiations between former Baathists and US military officials aimed at securing a cease fire in the Sunni provinces -- but Daniel Drezner already has. He also links to this AP story on negotiations among Sunni leaders on ways of reintegrating the Sunnis into the Iraqi political system. Of course, things could always go horribly wrong, but the signs are certainly encouraging. Read Drezner's posts here.
