To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

Tugboats of Baltimore
The other day I was getting ready to go swimming when I glanced out the window and saw a line of tugboats heading toward me. Naturally, I had a camera close at hand and started snapping. The tugboat parade seems to be an annual event -- the first was held in 2006 -- and it includes tugs, pilot craft, and a variety of other harbor vessels. There were far too many for me to post, but here is some of what I saw.
