Patriotic Community Service

Even more incredible.

Barak Obama wants us to turn this day of remembrance into a "National Day of Service and Remembrance". And, get this, the act he references in this regard is titled "The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act". This raises the question of just what are we remembering. Is it the act of terror perpetrated by Islamist radicals, or is it Senator Kennedy, or both? And if it is both, is this not a blatant attempt to place a partisan stamp on what should be a national event?

And just what is this "day of service" silliness? Here's what Obama calls for:
As this summer of service draws to an end, we renew the call to engage in meaningful service activities and stay engaged with those projects throughout the year. Working together, we can usher in a new era in which volunteering and service is a way of life for all Americans.
Does that mean we should all join ACORN? Sounds like it. At the very least this sort of thing, mingling patriotism and communitarian service, smacks of fascism. I will have none of it.

Here's a link to Obama's proclamation.

Faugh!
