The proposal [being considered] in [the] Ohio [legislature] to create an academic "bill of rights" would prohibit public and private college professors from presenting opinions as fact or penalizing students for expressing their views. Professors would not be allowed to introduce controversial material unrelated to the course.
Of course this is outrageous, but hardly less so than the irresponsible behavior of some faculty members who confuse knee-jerk antagonism to American society, culture, and government, with critical thought.
Repeat after me: "Irresponsibility invites intervention."
Sigh!
