"Europe is History's Has-been"

Robert Samuelson surveys "The End of Europe" here.

Pascal Bruckner, writing in le Figaro, notes the supine passivity [the "rhetoric of appeasement"] issuing from continental Europeans in the face of Islamist terrorism and contrasts it with the courage of the British. He notes that this replicates the responses of European powers to Hitler and concludes that the "Churchillian tradition" is not dead in Britain.
