To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

Condi, Condi, Condi
Condi is looking great. In fact she stacks up pretty well against la Angelina [reputedly the "sexiest woman in the world"]. Toby, the Bilious Young Fogey, notes that Condi is polling really well in Iowa but that she still hasn't impressed that nasty old hater, Harry Belafonte. "She Who Shall Not Be Named" tells me that Condi, or someone on her staff, has amazing clothes sense. Being a guy I hadn't really noticed, but I'll take her word for it.
