In an earlier post I referenced John Gravois' article in Slate disputing the development theories of Peruvian economist, Hernando DeSoto, author of The Mystery of Capital and The Other Path. There is a lively and only occasionally insulting discussion of that article going on now at Reason: Hit and Run. It's worth a look. So, too, is the response by Shannon Love and the discussion it engendered over at Chicago Boyz. Check them both out. This is an important issue that affects the lives of millions of people around the globe.
