Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

You may have missed it. There were parliamentary elections last week in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan marked by blatant irregularities. Thousands of protesters took to the streets. Sen. McCain issued outraged denunciations.
In both countries, McCain said, "election day was marred by vote buying, de-registration of candidates, and media interference, and followed hyperbolic warnings by officials about the dangers of civil war," he said of the February 27 voting.

"Kyrgyz officials know that the world is watching, and they should also know that choosing to deny their people the most basic political rights will carry profound implications," the prominent Republican lawmaker said.

The trouble is, the world wasn't watching. Everyone's attention was focused on the young, chic, media savvy protesters in Lebanon. Compared to the smokin' hot babes of Beirut Kyrgyz women like the one featured below didn't have a chance of drawing the attention of the international media. Pity.
