The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is on the move in Atlantic Ocean and is possibly headed towards the Mediterranean Sea....This will place three carrier groups within easy striking distance of both Syria and Iran [the Truman is already in the Persian Gulf]. The US is already engaged in cooperative diplomatic efforts with the EU aimed at freeing Lebanon and stopping Iran's nuclear weapons program. I have often opined that diplomatic efforts are nearly useless unless backed by a plausible threat of the use of overwhelming force. These movements could constitute just such a threat.
Or, possibly, they could be a prelude to military action against Syria, Iran, or both.

Stay tuned....
