Wolf at the World Bank?

Financial Times reports that Paul Wolfowitz is the leading candidate to replace James Wolfensohn as President of the World Bank.

He's not the only one on the short list, but if Bush wants him to have the post he'll get it. I don't know exactly how I feel about this. Wolhensohn's single-minded interest was development; Wolfowitz will have other agendas in addition. This is an appointment to keep your eye on because the World Bank exerts a powerful influence on the developing world.
