Day By Day

Well, that didn't take long...

Things are back to normal at the news networks. The focus is back on Aruba, Montana, which Justice[s] will resign, etc. London was merely a blip -- a 24 hour sensation.

And in the world's high councils...,

it was dispiriting and pathetic to watch Tony Blair speaking from Gleneagles, rattling on and on about global warming and African aid. He looked extremely uncomfortable, even awkward, delivering the address as if he knew just how absurd his position was. His country had just been attacked and that is where his attention should have been fixed -- not on these bureaucratic initiatives. But in international affairs, as in 24-hour news, the show must go on, and on, and on....

Sigh!
