To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

Morning at the Metropolitan
Blogging this morning from the Metropolitan on South Charles Street, just a few blocks from the Harbor. It's a nice neighborhood place. Good coffee, pleasant and efficient service, FREE Wi-Fi, and no toddlers -- I think I've definitely changed my preferences. I'll still go to the old place when the guys meet there, but for reading, writing and contemplation [and now blogging] this is the place for me. The only drawback is the music [urban funky sorta stuff], but as I get older I find that to be the case almost everywhere. No matter. With my I-pod and Bose headphones I can isolate myself anywhere. Right now as I sip my coffee I'm listening to Jascha Heifetz playing Beethoven's violin concerto. Pure bliss!
