Pennsylvania Politics -- Rendell's Rollin' In It

The Pittsburgh Tribune/Review reports:

Gov. Ed Rendell raised almost $3.5 million for his campaign so far this year, more than triple the amount raised by Republican challenger Lynn Swann.

Swann, a former Pittsburgh Steelers star who lives in Sewickley Heights, raised about $980,000 between Jan. 1 and March 27, the cutoff date for this reporting period, according to campaign finance reports filed Tuesday in Harrisburg.

Rendell's report showed the Democratic incumbent with about $15.5 million, compared with $1.5 million in Swann's war chest.

Read it here.

This could be big trouble for Swanny. He is an unknown quantity to most Pennsylvania voters other than his sports celebrity, and he needs money to get his message out [once he decides what it is, that is].
