Pennsylvania Politics: The Voters Revolt – What Does it Mean?

Conservatives in Pennsylvania are predicting that discontent in the Republican rank and file will spell electoral doom this fall. Others , though, argue that anti-incumbent sentiment will damage both parties equally.

Read about it here.

The real problem here is the Reagan conservatives. They’re mightily pissed. They feel that the Republican leadership both at the State and national level have betrayed their principles – especially their emphasis on limited government. Democrats I have talked to aren’t nearly as upset and are far less likely to stay home this fall. This is an off year election where turnout is the name of the game. The Republicans have disaffected a significant number of their core voters and will probably pay for having done so.
