Pennsylvania Politics -- Why the Keystone State Matters

Terry Madonna and Michael Young have a piece over at Real Clear Politics explaining why so much attention has been focused on Pennsylvania State politics during a time when its representation in Congress has been declining. Essentially, they are arguing that Pennsylvania politics matters because it is one of the few big states where both parties are actually competitive; close races attract media attention; and media attention turns Pennsylvania politicians into national figures which makes their races even more important.
