Politics runs on money and nobody is better at raising it than Ed Rendell. In recent weeks Rendell has spent 3 million dollars on TV advertising and still has five times as much money as his challenger, Lynn Swann. As of May 1st Swann had 2.4 million and Rendell 13.6 million in available cash. That's a huge disparity to make up. Swann has recently begun to attract serious money and nearly matched Rendell's total over the last month, but boy is he starting in a hole.
