Climate Skeptics Meet in Secret

Well, not actually in secret. Several hundred scientists and world leaders who have real doubts about the Gorey party line on global warming are meeting in New York. But it might as well be a clandestine cabal for all the attention it has been getting in the MSM.

Here's a report from Reuters that was published in the Times of India.

NEW YORK: Al Gore, who won the Nobel Peace Prize and an Oscar for his environmental advocacy, was the main target at a conference of dissident scientists skeptical of his views on global warming.

Several speakers at the conference on climate change whose theme was "Global warming is not a crisis," took pot-shots at the ex-vice president and his film, "An Inconvenient Truth," which won last year's Academy Award for best documentary.

"Whether we like it or not, it was extremely effective propaganda," said Timothy Ball, an environmental consultant and former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg. "It was appropriate that he got an Oscar from the land of make-believe," he joked.

So far the story hasn't been picked up by any of the New York hometown media.

Wonder why.

UPDATE:

I wrote too soon. The WaPo has a report on the conference. Of course the account is hostile and seeks to discredit the attendees or to portray their efforts as inconsequential.

Read it here.

Bluecrab Boulevard agrees that the WaPo article is a "hatchet job". [here]
