We got one now. We are in the midst of a global revolution, one that is gaining momentum. The past few months have seen popular uprisings in Ukraine, Georgia, Iraq, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Bolivia and Nepal. In just the past few days mass demonstrations have taken place in Morocco, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Kuwait, Taiwan and China. The pace of change is accelerating, but the forces of repression are finally beginning to waken to their peril. It is inevitable that things will turn violent and that is where the true test will come. Future historians may look back at 2004-05 as the beginning of a new millenium, or it might be nothing more than a replay of 1848. The next several months will tell.
