TNR on Darfur

The New Republic is devoting a whole issue to the ongoing genocide in Darfur. Lots of perceptive information and commentary there. The main point made by the editors, though, is that there is no point in complaining about something unless you are willing to do something about it. The swelling sympathy for the Darfur victims is just empty emotionalism unless real action is taken to stop the killing -- and, since the "international community" is once again incapable of action, it falls to the United States to do something.

What a pity that the irresponsible anti-war stance of the Democrats has paralyzed us.

Read the whole thing here.

Faugh!
