Powerline notes the recently released assessment of al-Qaeda's position in Iraq, based on captured documents, which shows that their effort is in disarray and collapsing. It's leadership has been decimated, it has little in the way of military strength, the Iraqi people have overwhelmingly rejected the terror campaign, and they are on the ropes. In only one area have they been successful. The American media continues to portray the situation in Iraq in far worse terms than it actually is and this has undermined American political support for the war effort.
