Rubes Anonymous

The ranks of the oh-so-smart and sophisticated rubes who threw all sense to the winds and supported the New Messiah, but who are now feeling buyers' remorse are growing. Maureen Dowd has now joined the club. Jennifer Rubin, over at Pajamas Media, writes:

The ranks indeed are filling with the disaffected and the disappointed — Chris Buckley, Maureen Dowd, David Brooks, David Gergen, and even that gynecological sleuth and blogger Andrew Sullivan. And then there is the very angry Marty Peretz. Their complaints are varied but expressed with equal amounts of remorse and bitterness. They all have been done wrong by Barack.
Read it here.

What is remarkable is just how easily these fools were duped. As Neo-Neocon pointed out [here and here] Barak Obama time and again during the campaign stated just what he planned to do. Yet many people endorsed him anyway, hoping against hope that he didn't mean what he said, even though he told us repeatedly that "words matter". That's not exactly a good strategy.

Well, he did mean exactly what he said -- and now we are stuck with him and his cluster of clowns. And what makes this more shameful is that these are all people who make their living with words. They should know better.

Thanks guys.
