To clarify: the title is excerpted from Act 1 of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The full quote goes: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile; So ere you find where light in darkness lies, Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes." It's a warning against spending too much of your life in scholarly pursuits.

Tunisia Trip -- Part Seventeen
Off we went to the local zoo with a brief stopover at the nearby botanical gardens. You can get some idea of the size of those date palms by reference to the little human figure standing in the walkway. One thing the trip to Tozeur did was to change forever my understanding of what an oasis is.
Then we walked over to the zoo to be greeted by this. Why is it that so many places in Tunisia looked like sets from horror films?
Inside there were several cages within which of local wildlife such as fennecs, buzzards and hogs languished.
Then they brought out the star performers -- a monitor lizard and a horned viper. No need to keep them in their cages, I mean, what could go wrong?
Then it was back to the hotel to clean up and get ready for dinner.
