Oh Dear, Keep Katherine Harris Off TV

Katherine Harris is on "Hardball" right now [rebroadcast, but it's the first time I saw it] being interviewed by David Gregory, and it's a horror. She's obviously an intelligent, ambitious, and talented woman, and if you listen to the words she's saying, that is apparent. But, visually and tonally she looks and sounds terrible. She has a fake smile, an insinuating tone of voice, distracting and excessive head bobbing, an aging cheer-leader persona.... Put it all together and it really, really, REALLY! turns off voters. She's really gotta work on her on-air presentation.

Things do not look good for the GOP in the Sunshine State right now.

Still, I gotta admire Harris for standing up to the powers that be in her own party. Maybe, just maybe, she'll pull this one out. I, for one, will be rooting for her. And, for that matter, a horrible on-air persona didn't stop Dubya. Maybe the days of slick and polished political performers are waning.
