Liberals Lose Faith in the Courts

Now that the political left has lost confidence in their ability to advance and protect their agenda through control of the judiciary, they have begun to undermine it. Fred Graham, Chairman of the Court TV Editorial Board, suggests in USA Today that life tenure for Supreme Court Justices is a bad thing. He even goes so far as to suggest that term-limiting Justices might not require a constitutional amendment, but could be done by Congress [if, of course, Democrats regain control there].

Read it here.

Of course if liberals dominated the court he would be singing a very different tune. If Republicans get to appoint the next justice I would not be surprised to see the New York Times start to question the whole principle of judicial review, while Republicans would adopt the Pelosi standard -- "When the Supreme Court rules, it is the Voice of God speaking."

Apparently on the Left, apotheosis of justices is out.
