Pennsylvania Politics -- Casey Keeps on Dancing

Bobby Casey, who is trying to unseat Senator Rickey Santorum, is still trying to run as the amoeba candidate -- one without any fixed positions on anything. The Tribune-Review notes:

You heard it here first, folks. Here's the long-awaited, definitive position of Robert P. Casey Jr., the Pennsylvania treasurer and Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, on Sam Alito:

"Bob Casey will reserve judgment until after the confirmation hearings," said spokesman Larry Smar.

This is what happens when you try to run as all things to all people. As Casey is forced to take a stance on issues he runs the risk of alienating voters. Right now he's running as the "not Santorum." Once he begins to take definition his poll ratings will drop and the race will tighten.
