Sometimes even as vapid a source as the New York Review of Books can surprise you. In the current issue Joan Didion has by far the best, most sensitive, and most perceptive treatment of the Terry Schaivo controversy yet published. I have never been a big fan of Didion, but this time she hit a homer.
It's long, but well worth the time to read.
