Walter Laqueur on the New European Century

Writing in Merkur, Walter Laqueur views the demographic collapse that Europe is experiencing and sees no possibility of the continent becoming once again a major force in World affairs. He notes that in 1900 21% of the world's population lived in Europe. Today it is less than 12%. And, according to UN population projections, by 2100 it will be less than 4%.

Of course, population projections have to be taken with a grain, no make it a celler, of salt.
