Bush in Georgia -- Credit Where It's Due

Democrats and leftist commentators have worked hard to deny President Bush any significant role in the freedom imperative that has been sweeping through much of the globe. Well, the first of this wave of revolutions took place in Georgia, which President Bush recently visited.

More than a hundred thousand Georgians came out to cheer President Bush and to thank him. President Saakashvili said, "You stood with us during our revolution and you stand with us today. On behalf of my nation I would like to say, `Thank you!'" The stupendous outpouring of good will was overwhelming. As Publius Pundit noted, it was like watching the Republican National Convention. And it gave the lie to the idea that George Bush was not involved in the early stages of the democratic revolution.

So Bush was there from the beginning, and has been unwavering in his support for the revolutions that followed. It is time that we begin to give him due credit for what has been accomplished.
